Durose is a surname that may easily be traced to Bramshall in North Staffordshire, England, in the 16th Century. This site is inspired by curiosity as to the deeper origins of the name, and by a geneological group that meets once a year in Bramshall Church Hall.

Welcome to the Durose Surname Site! Our aim is to provide an on-line resource for those interested in the Durose name, family and extended family.

Since the Duroses appeared to emerge from Staffordshire there's also a section on Durose Places both there and beyond. As with other family names, there have been waves of emigration, and our Places extend overseas. You may read about our family histories and notables, such as they are. Durose Gathering July 15th 2012

This year's Gathering was held in Bramshall Church Hall, Bramshall, Staffordshire, England on Sun 15th of July 2012. The event is annual and people come along to share their family history, meet up with old friends and (somtimes very distant) family.
